Best forest service sign Bogus time tonight

I hope this translates into a good time this Saturday, but I made it to the forest service sign in 39 min 55 sec tonight. That is about 2 min faster than my previous best time to that point.

Tonight's Bogus Ride - new best time :-)

It was a great night to ride Bogus, even if it was nice and warm. I think the two rides up Landmark Summit helped me out. I shaved almost four minutes off my previous time...made it in 1hr 17min 45sec. I am stoked. I finally think my goal of 1hr 15min is in reach.

3 Summit Challenge

What a fantastic event. The ride was well organized. There were plenty of stops for water, etc. The weather was about perfect. The company was great. The accomodations at Case De Denning were wonderful. In fact, a big shout out and thanks for letting us crash at your place!! I have to say that the gear change was extremely helpful...I wasn't hurting nearly as bad on the big climb this weekend. I am looking forward to doing it again next year.

Idaho State Criterium Championships

What a fun course. I enjoyed it almost as much as the Twilight Criterium...the course was way better, it just didn't have the atmoshere. Nate did awesome, finishing second by about 3 inches. I did much better than last night, staying with the field until the last few hundred meters. I think I finished about 7th and probably 30 yards back. Uh oh, I think I am starting to like racing the crits.

Twilight Criterium

I am very glad you all talked me into my first criterium. It wasn't nearly as scary as I thought it would be. I had a blast taking the lead for a couple of laps before falling to the back of the field. Thankfully, the officials let me go for 40 minutes before pulling me from the race. A few times I was really hoping they would pull me sooner because I was really hurting from the 182 average heartrate, but I am glad they didn't. If I can learn to ride in the pack, I think I am strong enough to make it.

2010 Blue Cruise

What a nice day for a ride. I was less tired after 100 miles today than after the 60 miles I rode of the Bob Lebow. I ran into Nate hiding in the shade of a tree at the Kuna rest stop, but didn't see any other Team Reel riders. Team Invent won first place in the team contest and Lactic Acid was second if anyone was curious.

2010 Bob Lebow

Well, the weather started off nice at 7:00 until the wind started picking up around 7:30. Our lead car didnt' know where they were going and took us straight through the Deer Flat intersection where we were supposed to turn left. The ensuing chaos caused one lady to crash. Unfortunately I tried to keep up with the lead pack that rolled out at about 21-22 miles per hour. That plus the wind wiped me out by Homedale. I limped to the Adrian, OR rest stop (60 miles in) before having my wife pick me up due to cramping (I know, I must be the biggest whimp in the club).

Ronde van Boise

Wow, what a ride!!! There was a very large turnout (I am guessing 75 riders showed up). I actually only did 2/3 of the climbs....it was exausting. Tons of fun though. I will definitely do it again if they have it next year.

Chicken Dinner - Finally completed first race

The weather turned out to be great for the Chicken Dinner race, which made it a good experience for my first time out. My results weren't spectacular (finished 23rd out of 31 finishers) but it was a lot of fun. I would have done better if I hadn't cracked about 4 miles from the finish, but I still managed to average 20.04 miles an hour which is high for me.
