For those that aren't doing Cycle for Independence I will be doing a Saturday ride. I am flexible about the start time but thinking around 7:00-7:30 in the morning. I would like to do some climbing. Today I road Cartwright to Bogus, then up Bogus to the 5,000" marker. I thought of doing the same ride but up to the lower lodge. Anybody want to join me or want to do a different ride? LP is right around the corner so I figured the climbing would be good for the legs. Let me know.
Probably In
I'd like to get a ride in too, and a strong climb sounds good. My son has a soccer game at 9:30 - his last one this year, so I might try to leave a little earlier. Maybe I can leave at 6, ride Avimor and then meet you on seamans gulch at 7:30 or so and ride with the group for an hour or so.
Planning on it
I am planning on coming. I will keep in touch and probably hook up with Terry at his house.
Sounds good
Tony, lets plan on leaving at 7:00 to hook up with Matt. Anybody else?
You guys are ambitious and
You guys are ambitious and way ahead of me, condition wise. I'll probably be tooling around on the hills too around the same time, but won't slow you down with my company. I'll be the one close to tipping over as you fly by.
As an eye doc (and cooperate sponsor of the ride), I probably should do the Cycle for Independence, but don't have the form to stay with the group for the metric century.
Just a quick question, Terry, are you related to Ryan?
Ambitious
Ambitious, but it's going to hurt. I seem to be on the one-bike-ride-per-month training plan lately (don't try it, it's patented). I'll be lucky to stick with the crew for half that distance... but it will still be fun. Nobody can hold onto the "out of shape" title unless you come prove it though! :)
Yep
Yeah, Ryan is two years older than I am and Rob is our oldest brother as well. Do you have a team kit by chance? Just want to know what jersey we should be looking for. How do you know Ryan?
I thought the profile
I thought the profile picture looked familiar. Ryan and I were in the same class at Capital and played basketball together through AAU and summer camps clear back since before JR high (I went to Fairmont). I even remember him being interviewed on the news as a 6th grader complaining about having the Apolousas for a mascot...
No team kit. Depending on the weather my jersey color may look the part though. I have a blue and white Pearl Izumi long sleeve. If its a bit warmer I'll be in a black and white Castelli jersey. Be sure to say hello as you pass me
Thats awesome!
The name doesn't ring a bell but maybe once I see you I will recognize you. I may have to dig out the old year book : ) Ryan is living in Brazil now. I will tell him about you.
Come find me before CfI
I'll try to remember to bring an extra jersey if you'd like to fly the TVCC colors. My wife is out of town, so I'll be there in plenty of time before the metric start! :)
OK
Sounds good. I will meet you at 7. I remember your house, but tell me the name of the street you live on so I don' t get messed up in the maze of that neighborhood.

What do you think Tony?
Do you want to join the guys and do CoI instead? I think some of the guys are just going to ride down there.
Cycle for Independence??
All these rides at the same time as the C for I?? Come join us!! Riding with hundreds of people is always more fun. Just add a dump loop onto the end of the ride if you want some more climbing Terry. :)
Good idea but.....
You forget I'm cheap. I didn't want to spend another $30 on top of the $180 I spent this month for LOTOJA.
Fill your pockets
Fill your pockets full of your own munchies and water and just head out on a bike ride at 8am (that just so happens to exactly mirror the route and destination we'll be following). ;) We ran into a few of them last year that were just killing us... We realized afterward that they shredded the front group into a pack of just a couple people and then peeled off around the 50m mark onto their own route. I'll bet they laughed the whole way home.
Eric has a good idea!
Ya, just come join us. It would be a ton more fun and if you are looking for a good work out I understand that their is always a fast group to test yourself against.

Decsions, Decisions
So I just got off the phone with Tony and this is the game plan for us. We are going to do our climb fest of a ride as planned starting at 7:00 and hook up with Matt. Tony mentioned that Tom may join us, as well as Bill Reed. (I'm thinking to myself, "Great, Matt and Tom are going to pedal me into submission!") But it's all good cause I need it. Anybody else that wants to join let me know. Hamilton, where are you? You wanna join us? My number is 794-2280 if anyone prefers to call or text me.
Immaculate Interception
Thanks Terry, I'm looking forward to riding with you guys tomorrow. Here's my plan in case anyone wants to join me a little earlier. I'm going to leave my house at 6:15 and ride up past Avimor until 7 or shortly after. I'll then turn around and cut over to Hidden Springs via Dry Creek (yup, taking her off-road) and will ride up toward the dump. I expect I'll intercept Terry, Tony and the group somewhere on Seaman's Gulch going the other way. I'll flip around and do Cartright and part of bogus with them. I need to be home shortly before 9 to get my son ready for a 9:30 soccer game, so i'll peel off from Bogus early. Text me at 724-2257 if you're planning to join me so I don't unkowingly leave without you.
I saw you guys headed up
I saw you guys headed up Bogus on my way down. Wouldve spun around and ridden up again but I had my student with me.... Maybe next time
Sorry we missed you. What a
Sorry we missed you. What a perfect day for a ride though huh?
