I expect to see daily pictures of Moab and crashes. I know those happen all the time and I know that there are only a couple hundred pics taken each day. So please make me sad that I am not down there and post your fun.
Well... we're having a blast. I've got about 2 gigs of video piled up so far. Slickrock and Klondike yesterday. Just got back from Amasa Back.... headed out for a night ride on Flat Pass here in a few hours. Then up early and off to Fruita/Grand Junction when the sun comes back up. We're packing it in and having fun! Man you're missing out!!
Well I know how Moab goes. You ride all day then you spend all night looking at the pictures and videos of the day. So I know you are all nerding out with your lap tops and I am surprised we have not seen any updates. Is Moab that lame you can't post any pics or videos?
Just giving you guys a hard time. I do miss going down there.
We're busy ridin' yo! Nine of us did Flat Pass the other night with the lights and it was unanimously declared the best night ride ever... ya... ever! Oh man it was just THAT good.
If you want streaming video and photo updates we're going to need a dedicated media person along on the trip next year. We're just so flogged when we get home that not much gets done... gotta go, heading out to ride Poison Spider right now!
That looks like fun. So you guys got totally lost and didn't make it back until morning? Is that what happened on that night ride? I thought to make it awesome it had to include getting lost and running out of lights and food. I am glad you guys are having fun. I look forward to getting more of the updates.
Moab wouldn't be complete without some lost fun. We were fine on the night ride... but managed to get lost with the entire group of kids on a night hike up to delicate arch in a sand storm... with 30+mph winds. That was fun. We got it figured out though and only spend a few extra hours out there. :)
Where are all the cool pictures and helmet cam footage? that was the best week I have had in a long time. The kids and adults were a pleasure to spend the week with and the riding was incredible. I can't wait until my kids are old enough to come along.
There were some real troopers down there, mostly young ones, but a couple of old ones also.
First, Moab was the BEST ever! Thanks to all for making it such a awesome week. I want to thank Eric and Nate for the cool pics/video. It would be cool if we could compile some of our footage into a cool CD with maybe some music in the background. I have some photos to add to the cause, but this is definately not up my wheelhouse. So I guess I am asking if someone with more sweet skills in this area than me would be willing to take on this challenge. If we can do this, I will try and get the same building where we met before Moab and we can have a fun post Moab get together. Thanks again and look forward to next years 10 year Anniversary.
OK... I imagine that the Moab videos will trickle out over the next few weeks... but here's Porcupine! I pruned about 60mins of footage down to 10, so hopefully it's short enough to handle in one sitting now. The wide angle lens gives a pretty sweet view of the canyon and even the river in spots as we get into the singletrack (most of the video is the lower singletrack). Make sure you crank it up to 720p HD resolution and ignore my bouncy head. :)
You know, I think this is one place where it actually looks freakier on the video. Usually the video looks slower and the obstacles tiny... but that cliff edge is looming for sure! I think you're so focused on the trail that you don't notice it when you're really there... at least for me.
You would be alright. There is a thing we like the call the Moab miracle. Yes I am a believe in it as well. We got you get you practicing so next year you can go. 1 week of crazy amount of ridding and fun.

Wow, that trail is on the edge of a cliff. I was having so much fun trying to catch Matt that I didn't even have time to look anywhere other than the trail. It seemed like a good idea at the time to go as fast as possible.
Let's go back down, I think the weather will be warmer next week.
Yeah... it just seems so much more obvious to me on the video vs actually being there. I don't know if I just wasn't looking or what the deal is. :) From about 1:30 to 5:30 it's pretty intense though...
It's the ContourHD 720... they make a 1080p version of the cam too if you want to get crazy but it's twice as much dough.
You can embed by just changing the Input Format option below the text box... should give you a choice of Filtered HTML, PHP code or Full HTML... switch it to Full and away you go. I just went ahead and edited your other post now to show you. :)
Rob showed me some of the pics and the video footage on Sunday. Wow! I can't believe I have to wait 11 months to get back there. Great work with the helmet cam Eric. Sweet riding Rob.
Short update...

I attached a few shots of Rob and Tom to your original post. More to come when I get home.
Looks good.

Night ride!
I'm sure there are loads of good pictures and videos, but I'd like to see the night videos again!
That was definitely my favorite week in Moab!
Good times indeed
The few shots I got are here:

I heard Eric is working on compiling some video footage.
Thanks for the pics!

excellent footage
It's fun to watch the lower singletrack and it's cool to see the canyon and the river, but I may be wise to not show this to my wife!

I would DIE!!!
I would come home from MOAB in a body bag!!

Who put that cliff there?

You guys are nuts.
I was thinking about that cliff the whole time.
That Footage ROCKS
Eric, that is great footage. Thanks for posting. Now I can ride while I'm at work!
Palms are sweaty!
Thanks for that! Great footage and great riding. What camera did you use? And how did you embed it in the post. I can't seem to find that ability.
Thanks
