I will not be doing this race. It has been about 3-4 weeks now since any regular exercise for me due to being out of town for 2-weeks for work, then being very sick. I am hoping to get going again soon and look forward to riding now that it doesn't get dark so soon. If only the weather would cooperate more now..
After a fast race (26.03 mph average), and after spending nearly half the race in the breakaway, I managed to get second place in the sprint. It was kind of a bummer though because I was positioned perfectly to take the win, and the leader ran me into the cones in order to keep me from overtaking him for the win. I guess Robert Duval said it best in Days of Thunder, "rubbin' is racin'!" Oh well, there's always next week. I guess I'll find out how my climbing legs are! If anyone wants to ride this week, I'm game! I'm kinda hoping brad wants to do some kind of fast tuesday workout, and then a no drop group ride on thursday! Lets get rollin boys!
Congrats on the good result Matt. Keep it up and you can upgrade to a cat 2 this year! Sorry I have been out of it a bit, with work and being sick for 3 weeks this is really pushing me back a lot :(
I plan on doing something on Tuesdays starting up here this week but I was planning on doing hills, not speed stuff.
