LP 200 fun shots

Tony's picture

Thanks to Steve, Matt and Terry for letting me ride with them. I had a great time as usual, and I am already anticipating next year. Attached is a pdf sampling of some of the images we captured on the ride. I hope it works so everyone can view them. If it doesn't, than someone needs to tell me what to do to make it work. I plan to make CDs for whomever wants them besides my own LP team. I wish we could have seen everyone on the team along the line to get pictures, but we took pictures of those that we saw. I hope everyone had a great time even though the mudslide spoiled part of the experience. Everyone needs to come back next year and hit it again, hopefully the weather will give us a break so we can have the great finish into Sun Valley. The day was a blast!

Nice

Nice shots! Yeah it was a good day despite the mudslide. I like your shots of Rob's reaction! :)

Nice work

The commentary adds a lot! Nice work. I might need the Rob reaction shot for my desktop. Maybe Eric could change Rob's pic. :)

We need to get Jamie's picture of Chris on the side of the road with the tubes hanging off his neck. Great day all around!

Chris

Yeah we need the rest of the story to go with that photo too. All I know is we were headed back up over the big climb from Lowman and ran into Chris on the other side of the road headed downhill towards lowman but he was BEHIND the official race tail car. His bike was propped up on the handlebars/seat... he had a wheel off... two tubes wrapped around his neck... and said he'd been there for 25 minutes! We gave him a wheel and he was quick to be on his way but what happened man?! What if the race hadn't turned around due to mudslide and nobody was headed back that direction? Also what's with the race's "broom" wagon not carrying a broom (a tube, pump or even bike rack)?

Yes, the drama… I had a

Yes, the drama…

I had a blowout on the descent from the second peak after Mores Creek Summit and changed it. That part was pretty quick. However, the new tube wouldn't hold air and I was forced to try and flag down riders and vehicles from that point on. Believe it or not, I stood on the mountain side for 25 minutes before Eric, Ladd, Jamie, et al. came by and set me up with a fancy wheel. We had already been struggling with a sick rider before that, so my delay amplified the effect of the following stage. Needless to say, we were OTB for the remainder of the race. I actually jumped back in on that same climb and rode the remaining 60 miles back to Boise without a stop. Considerate self-flagellation. :-)

It was still fun, albeit a different kind of fun. It was the “hey, I made it on a Titanic lifeboat” kind of fun.

Thanks again to my beloved teammates who bailed me out and stopped even though the Broom car left me. As you all know, we belong to a killer group! Also, here is some video…

Nice Vid!

Cool video, Chris! Great exposure of our sponsors, too. I still want to see those shots of you beside your bike with bike tubes drawn around each shoulder rambo-style. Sounds like a good race at-a-glance shot.

Nice Video!

I started shooting some video clips but only managed about 30secs worth total. Once we turned around it seems everything went out the window and we just weren't quite on track anymore...

Great video!

Nice to see what was going on with some of the other teams. We never saw the rest of the Reel teams...even with your 25 minute drama! But we were bringing up the rear nicely...and even with little or no drama!

Hey Tony, those pics are great! I can't wait to get the cd with all of them. I know we got a bunch more of our team but also of some of the other Reel Theater teams too. What a great day spent with great company!
