Twilight Helmet Cam + Rob's crash

Awesome!

Great video Chris! The commentary really added to it too. The chief usa cycling ref was a stick-in-the-mud for our race. I had my camera mounted on my helmet and he came up and said it was a safety concern and he would not allow me to race with it. So I had to remove it on the spot. The cam was running at that point so I guess I can at least post him taking it from me. :) Too bad... I think footage from our race would've been good stuff too.

Ref takes my cam

Apparently I forgot to straighten the camera anyway so maybe a good thing since footage would've been on it's side the whole race... ;)

Sux

Good grief! Maybe they should have been more concerned with the debris in corner two or the protruding curb on the back stretch. Those could have lead to injuries. I saw that you had it on then pulled it off but I wasn't sure why?! Well, I am glad they didn't see mine. :)

I'm not quite sure why they let me go with mine.

Maybe...

Maybe your's sparked the "hey I should've taken that from him" thoughts and then he homed in on mine like a hawk afterwards. :)

Perhaps

You might be right. I think the trick is to carry it, line up outside, and snap it on just before the whistle. :) That's what I'll do next year to avoid the junk.

Why didn't you where one in the State Championships? Were they prohibited there too?

ya

sounds stealthy! ya I just spaced it at the state champs... left it on the charger, doh!

More camera footage!

I think with two ContourHD's in the club now, we could really do some cool stuff! What are you editing on (Mac/PC)? Software?

eric's picture

agreed!

Next big race we should mount both forward and rearward facing cams on one bike... that'd give us some sweet action! Yeah I just use iMovie to hack mine up.

A plan

Sounds great! Hey, I've used iMovie for years and find it much faster and easier than just about anything else. I even used Final Cut Pro HD for a couple years.

I'll add my Flip to the mix as well.
