In preparation for next weekends 3 Summit Ride and for Ride Idaho coming up I am thinking of doing a ride from Lowman to Boise this Saturday morning. Would need to schedule someone to drive us up there and drop us off though. If we get any interest I would start working on that so let me know if you are interested. Probably leave Boise around 8 AM or so. I think the ride would be around 75-78 miles or so.
Maybe
That seems kind of fun if we get enough people. I will keep an eye out for particulars.
Out
It sounds like a blast, but will take me away for too long that day. I plan on doing something big as well, but will need to be back sooner. Hope it works out and give us a post ride recap if it does.
camping
Darn... we'll be camping. That sounds like an great ride!
Another possibility
There may be some guys from Lactic acid doing an Idaho City-Lowman ride. I'll try to keep you posted.
Here's the plan
There are about 4 other guys from Lactic Acid leaving at 7:30 to drive to Cascade to do a preview of the 3 summit ride. I am trying to find out the meeting place. Let me know if anyone is interested in going.
Rob's plan
I plan on leaving from my house at 7:00 a..m. I plan to ride the Dump Loop over to Bogus and then up Bogus. If others join me, we will regroup at the top and then climb to the upper lodge. After coming down, either Dump reverse or back along Hill Rd. We can see how we are doing on time at that point.
Probably in for a piece of Bogus for a couple hours
I'll see if I can remember how to ride a bike after my week off. I'll likely join you for some portion once I figure out the family's plans for tomorrow. I'll plan to meet at your place at 7:00, Rob.
that's almost scary...
I was pondering the very same ride (minus the upper lodge)! But I wasn't going to suggest it to anybody because I didn't want to slow anybody down too much...
I haven't ridden to the upper lodge in a long time, my memories are very fuzzy, I think I was delirious by the end.
7:00 am? Ok, odds are that I'll at least ride with you to Bogus Rd, and whenever you get sick of waiting for me at the top you can bust back home.
One possible hitch -- tomorrow is the poorly publicized mountain bike day. Are there going to be tons of cars zipping up and down the hill? Might not be the best day to be riding it.
My 2 cents
I thought about that, but hoped/thought we might be going up early enough to beat the traffic going up. Plus, I think my body needs a long sustained climb.
With the Mtn. Biking going on at Bogus I would think that the water spout outside the main lodge would be running. See ya in the morning.
