Bogus Basin Summit Fest
Nothing like 3 days warning before a big event, huh? They must be hoping for a really small turnout! Anyway, here's the info:
Summit Fest - Twenty Ten

Join us for a day on the Deer Point Chair, trails and lawn in front of JR Simplot Lodge for a community event of fun, family-friendly mountain biking and hiking on the mountain
Deer Point chairlift #1 operating 10am-4pm
$15 ~ Lift Ticket
Tickets are available for purchase at the mountain on event day.
Note: All mountain bikers must wear a helmet to get on the chair lift
*A signed liability form is required in order to purchase any chair lift ticket on July 24th, and parent or guardian signature required for ages 17 and younger. Download liability form here>> to sign and bring with you, or get one on the mountain
Food & beverages available for purchase 10am-5pm
Barbecue features the bogus burger, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches & garden burgers along with assorted Pepsi soda products, water & Gatorade, chips & water.

Mountain bike and hike trails maps:
Beginner mountain bike trails are located near Frontier Point Lodge on the Shafer Butte Trail System. No tickets required to access these trails. View Maps
Intermediate-advanced mountain bike trails are accessed from the top of Deer Point chair lift #1 (lift ticket and liability release form required Mountain Biking Release Form.pdf). See mountain alpine maps for reference

Hmm... yeah nice notice. You'd think they'd try to get the word out to the cycling community on this a bit earlier like you say. BUT, I just saw they're doing the same thing on Aug 21st. I'm going to try to plan on that one for sure!
