Breaking Away
Okay I have a bone to pick with many of you. I have heard from many about this wonderful movie and mush see called Breaking away. For years riding with many of you I have heard the phrase, "let hurt a little". I was told this was in the that movie. Even on Ride Idaho it was brought up and I was again told to watch it. I did get one warning from Nate on this saying it wasn't as good as he remembered. I was told over and over I have to watch it. Anyways I watched it over the last few nights and I have to tell you it is horrible. I didn't even hear the saying "lets hurt a little". Plus when he is following the semi truck going 50 - 60 miles an hour he is still in his small chainring up front. Come on if you are going to make a movie about cycling a least do some homework on it.
I guess I can not join the real cycling elite group that has watched it.

Haha, yeah there were plenty of errors in that movie for sure. After many years, you will just remember the weird/funny stuff and forget all the mistakes. At least that is how it was for me.

What a sweet flick, eh?! At least you know who the Cutters are now though, eh? Yeah that small chainring move always gets me when I watch it too. The "Enough with this Sunday stroll . . . let's hurt a little." is from American Flyers though. Have you watched that one yet? Better put it in the queue... comon, all the Italians do it!! :)
I think American Flyers has more memorable one liners for me. "Just sit back, and you've got second place locked up." is always spouted off on our rides at some point. One of my fav quotes of all time comes from AF , something about how he can't be sick because he's got a mustache and everything!! After you watch that, we should go do some sprint workouts with Eddie too.

I agree with all of Brad and Eric's comments. I will confess one little secret desire that BA inspired in me. I too want to learn Italian and ride with my cool cycling cap singing Italian. Don't we all wish we had such a cool swimming hole?

BA has tons of good stuff in it. If you can't appreciate 'Breaking Away', then I'm not even going to suggest my favorite cycling movie, one that I watch every few years, one that ALL of my kids love -- Pee Wee's Big Adventure! Talk about a great movie -- the whole think is about the love of a bike. And what a sweet bike...
